Spotlight Productions is a non-profit making youth theatre specialising in delivering high quality musicals.  Funding is a constant issue for us and so we have created Spotlight Productions Costume Hire to help finance our shows.
We have thousands of costumes and items of clothing available to hire. Our collection spans most historical periods from ancient to modern day, including many matching sets.

We provide costumes for our own productions and hire costumes to other amateur, fringe and professional companies, theatrical and operatic, as well as schools and individuals. Some of our costumes have appeared on Television, in films and on the West End stage, but we have also provided costumes for festivals, historical events and private fancy dress or themed parties.

The Collection

Our costume collection has grown substantially over the last few years and is available for viewing by appointment at our costume barn in Cambridgeshire. As well as a huge collection of period costumes, we can provide accessories such as petticoats, gloves, all manner of headwear, shoes, jabots, belts, collars, scarves, shawls, bags, braces, wigs and jewellery.

We also have a number of collections of costumes for entire shows, these include, Grease (1950's), Disco Inferno (1970's) Bugsy Malone  & Thoroughly modern Milly (1920's),  A Whitechapel Tale (Victorian), Godspell and Return to the Forbidden Planet (which can be set in any period),

How to Hire

You will find our rates extremely competitive and our team helpful &knowledgeable about creating costumes.

Charges are calculated per costume and we are flexible about length of hire as we recognise how difficult it can be to collect and deliver costumes during show week!. Whilst there is a standard tariff, our prices reflect the rarity and craftsmanship in a costume. We take two cheques, one which we cash and one which we keep as a deposit and which is returned to you.

Since many of the items are fragile or unique, we reserve the right to charge extra for the difficult to replace items. We ask our customers not to make any alterations without consulting us and to only make temporary changes and easily reversible. Costumes should be returned in the same condition as when they are hired. Since some items are very old or made up of a variety of fabrics, we prefer to arrange cleaning ourselves. Depending upon the circumstances, this may be taken out of the deposit charge which we levy on every hire.

Although we don't have official opening times we can make an appointment for one of our team to meet you at our costume store near Huntingdon in Cambridge at any time.
