Parents Page

If your children are anything like ours, they don't usually let you know what's going on until after the event - if at all!!!
During all 3 productions  frustrated parents have told us that they had no idea about extra rehearsals, costume calls and tickets going on sale.  So even though we all try to encourage our sons & daughters to behave like responsible adults, we thought it might be useful to have a page dedicated to the parents of our cast members.
Below you will find important and useful information about your child's involvement in a Spotlight Production.

  1. Photo's
During our rehearsals and show week, we take lot's of photo's of cast members.  These are used in our show programme, in newspaper articles, on our web site and on display boards.  When your child joins Spotlight for the first time you will be asked to sign a consent form allowing us to do this.  For a copy of this form, please email us here.

    Rehearsals

  2. A full list of all rehearsal dates and times can be found on our webcalendar here.  In order to produce quality shows in short timescales we have to take a tough line on rehearsal attendance.  We expect cast members to come to all rehearsals and will only accept notified absences for illness and pre-booked holidays.  We expect our cast to manage their school-work alongside their show commitments - so being behind with their coursework is not a legitimate excuse. Cast members missing more than 3 rehearsals will be asked to leave..

    Costumes

  3. One of the things we take pride in, are our show costumes.  We try hard to make sure they are always bright colourful and historically authentic, but most importantly, we try to find costumes that the cast want to wear and feel good in.  If your child has specific issues or restrictions around what they can wear, please encourage them to discuss it with us at the earliest opportunity.

  4. Subs

  5. The rehearsal space,  sets and costumes are partly funded through subscriptions, so each cast member will be expected to pay £3 per week, regardless of whether they attend.  In addition principles will be required to attend a Wednesday rehearsal for which an additional £1.00 fee will be payable.
Subs can be paid weekly or in advance and a standing order facility is available if you prefer.  Please contact us for further details

Help!!!

With a flair for design and  a bit of creativity, costumes can be adapted from the most unlikely things.
